Show MILITARY MATTERS three new oscars chosen for co D B saturday evening in the house pursuant to an order from headquarters sercial order no 3 8 an election for co D was held in the court house saturday evening at the time stated in the call published in THE JOURNAL T the he vacancy caused by the resignation ol of the captain necessitated this move by order of the com mander in chief col noble warrum jr was present as supervisor of the election As the roll showed 0 36 30 enlisted men iden 19 was the vote required for a choice there were 20 present col warrum read the call and order from headquarters stated the object of the meeting and called for nominations for chairman sat jensen was as chosen by acclamation and aid isaac stewart as secretary nominations for captain were then made as follows st S t beusen and lieutenant shelton were named before the final ballot shelton withdrew and mgt jensen was unanimously chosen captain the nominees for were shelton 1 hall and mair the last two iwo named withdrew Y and shelton went in by acclamation the election of shelton left the 2nd and lieutenancy vacant and nominations for that position were therefore declared in order private hall and sargeant mair were named but the former withdrew after it a tie lie ballot and mair was chosen by acclamation corporal crookston Crook had bad been named but positively declined to run owing to the fact that he contemplates being absent from the state this summer the best of feeling prevailed throughout 0 the meeting and the company compan is well satisfied with its choite of officers there seems to be some misunderstanding der standing among the members of both companies as to whether or not they chev can be compelled to attend dr drill they will learn that their officers must be obeyed after a trial under the new law |
