except cardon were present the usual routine was gone through with respecting the minutes and the council settled down to business A petition was received from iaac smith find and others asking the city to aid a cause of charity in the case ot of augusta johnson whose diseased knee was sapping away her life and who was herself unable to stand the expense of the necessary operation after
