upon any of the advanced cours courses es students who have completed tile the fifth reader grade of the district schools will bo be placed in this department part ment as will also any other students for whom this course is adjudged by the faculty to be most suitable it is thought 0 that students of more mature years ft ho have not attended school for some time will find this course especially profitable and in the discretion of the faculty such students may be admitted without examination the discipline afforded by the systematic study afan of an ancient or a foreign language is so v valuable that it has been decided to require the students in this course to select either latin or german or spanish and to pursue the lati language guage chosen during the two years oyer over which the course courle extends they will thus be able to dispense with a carresi corresponding amount of tile the language so selected when they enter either cither of the advanced courses an important
