Show ARRESTED FOR FIGHTING. Between nine and ten o'clock last evening, officer Everill, who was on duty near the Logan House, happened to see two men engaged in an encounter at fisticuffs. He immediately arrested both of them. The culprits were a young man named McDonald, a stranger in town, who had been stopping at the Logan House for a few days, and W. C. Buck. The former, it seems, accused the latter of making some remarks about a young lady that he, McDonald, objected to. The two had words over the matter, but each states that the other struck the first blow. McDonald was anxious to settle with the police magistrate that evening, and did so. Mr. Buck had his trial next morning. Both paid a fine. |
