Show STAKE CONFERENCE OF RELIEF SOCIETIES. According to previous announcement a conference of the Relief Societies in this Stake convened in the Tabernacle at ten a.m. on Saturday, the 3d inst. [instant]. Sisters Snow, Wells, Howard and others were present and gave much excellent instruction. On Saturday reports from 22 of the 27 Societies in this Stake were read, and also a report of the work done during the last 13? years. During that period the Relief Societies of this Stake have devoted $1,591.18 to the poor, $809.63? to emigration and $511? in cash and $1,325.77? in property to the Temple, besides considerable sums given for the benefit of the Indians and missionaries and invested in books, buildings, &c. The societies of this stake have on hand, cash $247,72, property $1,900.11?, and 2,505 bushels of wheat. On Sunday, Stake organizations of the Relief Society, and the Young Ladies' and Primary Improvement Associations were effected as follows: RELIEF SOCIETIES: President, Elizabeth G. Benson; lst counselor, Louisa? H. Benson; 2d counselor, Lucy S. Cardon; secretary, Kinnie B. Caine; assistant secretary, Lydia Crowther; treasurer, Eleanor Tarbett. Y.L.M.I.A.: President, Harriet A. Preston; 1st counselor, Ida I.? Cook; 2d counselor, Kinnie B. Caine; secretary, Alley Preston; treasurer, Kate Smith. PRIMARY ASSOCIATION: President, Jane E. Molen, of Hyde Park; lst counselor, Adeline Barber, of Smithfield; 2d counselor, Mattie Hanson; secretary, Lavina Parry; treasurer, Ellen Lundberg. The conference, having effected an excellent work in these organizations adjourned on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. |
