Show A LOVING COUPLE. The truth of the following is vouched for by a gentleman of Logan: They had been to Salt Lake to "see the 24th" and were returning on a U. & N. [Utah & Northern] train. He sat next the window, and had his arms twined two or three times around her. She, too, seemed in a caressing mood. Ordinarily there is none too much room in a U. & N. [Utah & Northern] car seat for two persons, but our informant declares that a fat dutchwoman with a clothes basket, could easily have found room beside them. The other passengers had been making themselves merry over the loving behaviour of the pair, but the latter were wholely oblivious to the fact until the train commenced to ascend the "divide" and to move so slowly that its noise was so greatly lessened as to admit of sounds being laughed at. He whispered to her, they both rose, she flirted her skirts as she moved to the passengers and defiantly asked, "What d'ye take me fur? D'ye think I'm a yip-yap?" and they both went into another car. |
