Show SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY.

Sister Prusella Hendricks, wife of James Hendricks, (who was wounded at the Battle of Crooked River in Missouri, and afterward died from the effects), on last Sunday saw her seventieth birthday. On that day her relatives, ?? her posterity, to the number of seventy gathered at the aged lady's residence in Richmond for the purpose of giving her a surprise. Among the party were W. D. Hendricks, Esq., of Richmond, Bishop Roskelley? of Smithfield, and William Van Noy of Franklin. A sumptious dinner was prepared of which all partook. Rehearsals of the past experiences in the Church made the time pass pleasantly and profitably to all. In the evening an audience was given to some of the eldest of the company when some interested remarks were made relative to bygone times, etc. Sister Hendricks is getting feeble, and was quite overcome3 with joy at having such a testimony of regard. Presents were very numerous. In fact she received more perhaps than she will ever use. At the time sister Hendricks emigrated to Utah, in 1847, she had five sons and daughters. She now has 63 grandchildren and 44? Great grandchildren. |
