Show YY. M. M. I. A. CONFERENCE. On Sunday had a quarterly conference of the Y. M. M. I. A. of this Stake was held in the Logan Tabernacle. The exercises consisted in the verbal reports of representatives, the reading of the statistical report, addresses upon topics connected with the week of mutual improvement, &c. (etc.). Nearly all the Associations of the Stake were represented, and the verbal reports of the condition of the respective societies were highly gratifying, and in nearly every instance showed a marked improvement in membership attendance and interest. Elders Joseph A. West and E.H. Anderson of Ogden were present. The latter, who is Superintendent of the Y. M. M. I. A. of Weber Stake, addressed the congregation in the forenoon, and the former delivered a highly interesting discourse in the afternoon. We present some interesting figures taken from the statistical report read by the secretary Elder R.S. Campbell. Total membership, 1381; increase since last report, 316; average attendance, 820; number of regular meetings, 305; number of cojoint meetings, 71; number of visitors sent, 107; number received, 194; members on missions, 15; number of volumes in library, 480; value $580; total chapters read, 30,360; number lectures delivered 510. Here is an exhibit of work of mutual improvement by the young men of this county, performed during the past winter, that is most gratifying. When the youth of a community show diligence in seeking after God, that community is as certain to increase in power and influence as the seasons are to succeed each other. Cache Valley Stake has reason to be proud of her youth. |
