The quiet of this city is something remarkable. <br><br> -- Miss Whitney, whose arm was recently broken at Mendon, has now almost recovered. <br><br> -- A Post Office has been established at Benson in this county, with Thomas Rogers as postmaster. <br><br> -- Better sleighing than the people of Logan enjoyed at the beginning of this week, would be hard to find. <br><br> -- Young Hall, of Mendon, whose leg was recently amputated by Doctor Ormsby, is now able to be out on crutches. <br><br> -- Gentlemen may now retire on their laurels. For one year, according to established usage, the gentler sex have the right of choice. <br><br> -- Phil Margetts will play with the Providence Theatrical Company at Providence on the 1st and 2d of January, 1880. dec25-lt -- We give considerable space, this week, to a letter from Mexico <br><br> -- believing that our readers will be better pleased with that than with any other matter which we could present to them. <br><br> -- On Saturday last the Logan Brass Band gave some delightful serenades to the public - the LEADER office being among the favored. The band is a worthy organization and should be encouraged. <br><br> -- In this issue will be found an extensive advertisement from Franklin Merrill, agent for the Singer Manufacturing Company's Sewing Machines. Read the notice, and govern yourselves accordingly. <br><br> -- On Friday evening next the Lotus Literary Association will meet in the Logan City Hall, commencing at 7 o'clock. The question for debate is "Resolved that life in the country is more enjoyable than life in the city." -- On Saturday last we received a pleasant call from H. W. O. Margary and C. C. Goodwin, Esqs., of Ogden City. Mr. Margary is a prominent attorney of the junction city, and Mr. Goodwin is a painter well know to the people of Logan. <br><br> -- Holiday Goods, just received at Ormsby's Drug Store, a fine selection of Holiday Goods, consisting of Ladies Toilet Cases, Dressing Sets, Toilet Sets, Pocket Books, and many other articles suitable for Christmas and New Year Presents.
