HEALTH NEWS According to the weekly report re-port of the state department of health, a total of 163 new cases of communicable diseases were reported for the week ending August 24 as compared with 135 for the previous week and 65 for the corresponding week last year. Poliomyelitis leads the list with a total of 53 new cases. Mumps came second with 38 cases and measles was third with 15 cases. The following is a list of all diseases for the week: cancer, 11;-chicken pox, 14; Hodkin's disease, 1; gonorrhea, 3; measles, meas-les, 15; German measles, 9; mumps, 38; pneumonia, 3; poliomyelitis, polio-myelitis, 53; rheumatic lever, 3
