Show Bishop Eiiifcett Honored. ( The people of Price Ward Bloom-ington Bloom-ington Precinct took it upon them-' selves .to give their respected Bishop Bish-op Nephi R. Favvcett, a surprise, on the anniversary of . his .fifty-fifth 1 birthday, March 12, 1897. Early in the eveningQie was .visited and Escorted ito .the commodious meeting j house, where all the people of the ' ward assembled: except two or three who were. not well enough to attend. The meeting was presided over by Counselor George W. Fawcett. An interesting program was then successfully suc-cessfully carried dut, asrfollows: 'Prayer, Counselor Fawcett; An "Epitome of the Life and Labors of Bishop Fawcett, by Elder L. J. 1 Larson; Song, Misses Luella and Clara Fawcett; Song, Sister Hutch-ings; Hutch-ings; Remarks, Elder Samuel Miles; Song, Misses Agnes Carpenter and Elsie 'Larson; Declamation, Alfred A. Carpenter; -Recitation, Miss Rilla '.Larson; Song, Misses Rhoda and 'Jennie Carpenter; Song, Alfred' A. Carpenter; Recitation, Brigham Carpenter; iRemarks, Bishop N. R. Fawcett; Song, Misses Maida Fawcett Faw-cett and Elsie Larson; ;Song,Ghoir;' Benediction, John W. Fawcett. After a short intermission all became be-came seated and several young, ladies passed around the" picnic. Feasting being over, all who desired, engaged in dancing for a time Brother Fawcett has presided! over the ward for nearly sixteen: years and by his faithful labors and kind and .unoffending manner has1, won the esteem and good will of all.: He not only encourages the young; in their associations but takes part with them in their exercises.
