Show From our regular Correspondent. Springdale, Utah, June 26, 1883. Eel. Union & Echo: I have been quite ill since I returned from St, George. On my way home I stopped at brother Price' in Washington. Brother Price has a very nice center table, of mottled, or flowered marble, that he has worked out himself, from a ledge near Washington. Tho marble mar-ble is very rich and beautiful, and the work is a credit to the workman. He also has a mantle and other articles worked out, and quite a number of slabs on hand. When-wo-wore about'tyro-miles- below be-low Rockville we descried a smoke (hat excited our fears that something was wrong in (own, and sure enough brother James P. Terry's barn, was in ashes. The fire had started in a wagon near the barn where brother T had left it when he returned from Conference. I understand there were I matches in the wagon, but no one knew how the fire started. There was no water nearer than the river it having been turned out of the ditches ditch-es the day previous, for cleaning. They managed to get their horses and harness from under the sheds, but the bam, sheds, yards etc , including the firBfc cutting of hay. were all consumed. And luckily it was, as I undertand, through I he strong faith exercised, their dwelling was preserved, by a sudden change of the wind. Brother Terry is first counsellor to bishop C. N. Smith, and what seems strange, but a short time previous, C. Mi Jennings, the second counsellor, had met with a sad accident by the drowning cf a little son of his, in the Rockville ditch. Last Thursday while John Dennet was preparing to set a trap for a squirrel he had seen run into a hollow log, lie put his left hand into the hollow hol-low to clear some trash out of the way, when two of his fingers were j caught by a rattlesnake which hung on till ho nearly pulley the serpen from the log by the teeth, B have no ' heard how John is getting alono Springdale is in possesion of a new I scnoolhouse that is so nearly complet- H ed it has been dedicated, the dedica- tory prax being offered by our M W01' Qyi" uiJp Weare now holding our Sabbath schools and meetings of H various kinds in the new house, and hope to be able soon to find somebody to teach our day School- H . lively preparations are being made B m the Ward to celebrate the fourth and those who are fond of celebrity H have not forgotten that the twenty tourth comes in its timo, H The general health of the people is H excellent.
