Show PLEA FOR OPEN RANGE. Cattlemen Believe in Federal Control of Grazing Lands. Denver. A strong plea for the soitntific use of the onen range was made at the Tuesday session of the Ahvrican Livestock association by Dwight B. Heard of Phoenix. He declared de-clared that forestry, irrigation and gtiizing were inseparable and that the only hope for grazers using the public pub-lic lands was in federal control of the open range. C. .1. Gavin of Denver spoke on the "Kvolutioi. of the Farm and the Range," and Herbert W. Mumford of the Illinois Agricultural college, delivered deliv-ered an illustrated talk on "Cattle Raising in Argentina." Issa Taminura, royal commissioner of livestock industry of Japan, spoke on the livestock industry in Japan. |
