Show WOMAN'S LITERARY CLUB 'Seven years ago lust. September, a group of women met at the home of Sirs. Robert G. Porter, and there formed the first Literary Club in Duchesne, Du-chesne, with Mrs. Porter, as President, Presi-dent, and Mrs. George C. Kohl as Secretary. Sec-retary. This original club, with about twenty members, flourished for tw years; then one spring, when the teachers teach-ers began to leave for their summer vacation, the club began a slow death and silently passed away. However, it was1 not. buried and two years later a movement was started by Mrs. Earl Ferron to revive it and so it was revived. re-vived. This new club had a stronger background and used Its own dead self as a stepping stone to higher things. Thl time, it was a closed corporation, cor-poration, with twelve regular members mem-bers and six guest members and so it has Itten through the succeeding years. The club belongs to the Book-of-the i 'Mlonth and each member pays for a book during the year and also claims one for her own. These books are pas sed around among the members, each having the privilege of reading them. This year the Club is taking a Short Story Course, from the State University and the members expect to get a wonderful lot of good from i this. The current event, which each I one gives in nnswer to the roll call, are not mere little items from the dally papers but. nrticles from magazines, articles which broaden the mental horizon ho-rizon of all present and give a greater great-er scope to the outlook of this Interesting Inter-esting and Interested group of women. Most of the members have held officers of-ficers in the Club Jn the past seven years as everyone Is called to do her duty. And It resolves itself into a duty to be a small town officer in an organization. or-ganization. The present officers of the Literary Club are Mrs. Afton Crocker, President and Mrs. Rock rope. Secretary, Secre-tary, both of whom the Club has a right to be proud of. The regular members of this Club are': Mesdarnes Frank Connor, Jay Pope, Bock Pope, Ernest Crocker, Ernest Er-nest Schonlan.
