Show Some Common Plants Are Found Deadly Poisonous Some of our most common plants are deadly poisonous. Among these poisonous plants are Illy of the valley, stnr of bethlehem, bouncing bet, buttercup, but-tercup, larkspur, mnrsh marigold, Dutchman's breeches, bloodroot, penny pen-ny cress, mountain laurel, lady's slippers slip-pers nnd St. John's wort. Not all of these plants poison man, but most of them, when eaten by stock cause their death. "St. John's wort," says Doctor Muenscher of New York, "poisons only white cows, white sheep or cattle with white spots. For many years this was known but only within the past two years has the reason been discovered.
