Show I NG RESETTING OF FRUIT TREES Condition of Orchard Has Much to toDo toDo Do With Desirability Must DesIrability Must Be Carefully Irrigated The condition of the orchard has baa much to do with the desirability of resetting fruit trees If the trees are aro old and there are some places In which which the element of age Is beginning to show its effect It Is not good policy to plant young trees among the larger ones but If the orchard is yet young and antI bids fair to bear fruit profitably for a number of years the resetting of these vacant places If properly dona done can be made a profitable investment of time and money It should be remembered remembered remembered re re- re- re that the shade of the largel larger larger lar lar- lar ger gel trees besides the lack of fertility In the soil will place the newly planted trees at a disadvantage The grower must therefore see to It that thes trees are given the very Tory best of care particularly In supplying them with plant food Put some well rotted manure ma ma- nure nuro In the hole which should be dug deeper and larger than Is necessary to pint the tree This manure should be covered with some fine dirt upon which the tree can be planted The ground should be kept thoroughly worked for a distance from the tree and the Irrigation should be looked after carefully r- r |
