Show My ton News by Grace Dalgleish The Young Artists Music Festival brought a lot of musical musi-cal talent to entertain a large audience at the Myton Ward Chapel, Tuesday evening. The following program was presented: Vocal solo, "Give Us This Day" by Barbara Uresk; Clarinet solo, "Song of India ", by Kathy Hardinger; Vocal duet, "Tit Willow", by Karen Harris and Beverly Harris; Accordian solo, "All Through The Night", by Charles Clark; Vocal solo, "Over the Rainbow", Rain-bow", by Janet Allred; Piano solo, "Valse", by Kay Johnson; Trumpet solo, "Cygnus", by Stanley Johnson; Trio, "The Bridge Builders" by Charlotte, Julie and Irene Dennis, accom panied by Mrs. Dennis; Clarinet Clari-net and accordian duet, "Aira Lee", by Joyce Uresk and Gloria Uresk; Piano solo, "Spinning Song" by Mary Gae Richens; Vocal solo, "Sweetheart" "Sweet-heart" by Ila Rae Gingell; Clarinet solo, "Ina Persian Market" by Roland Uresk; Harmonica solo, "Did you Think to Pray" by Jeri Harding; Vocal duet, "Indian Love Call" by Sandra Crapo and Gloria Peterson; Accordian solo, "Whispering Hope" by Gloria Uresk; Quartette, f,Hello Young Lovers" by Julene Ross, Bonnita Workman, Judy Jen-son, Jen-son, and Susan Abegglen; Trumpet duet . "Sweetest Story Ever Told11 by Stanley Johnson and Clark Roberts; and a vocal duet "Tumbling Tumble Weeds1 by Beth Duke and Janet Ross accompanied by Mrs. Dennis. All other selections were accompanied by Julie Lyman. Mr. and Mrs. Devon Gentry visited in Vernal Monday to spend a few hours with Mr. Gentry's mother Mrs. Violet Gentry who is residing at the Stewart Nursing Home. The family spent the afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs.K Martin Mar-tin Oaks. Mrs. Oaks is a daughter daugh-ter of the Devon Gentry's and a granddaughter of Violet Gentry. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Richens came from Logan to spend the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aften Richens. County Commissioner and Mrs. Wilmer Murray enjoyed an overnight visit from Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gilbert of Othello, Washington, who were present Friday and Saturday in Myton visiting old friends. The visitors are former residents of Myton. Weekend visitors at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Page were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Eden and baby of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Roberts went to Salt Lake City Friday to receive into their family the 112 year old baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip H. Russon, who were killed in a tragic plane crash near Reno, Nevada, January 19th. Tiny Wendy Sue Russon will be a new sister to the five children of the Roberts family. Mrs. Roberts is a sister of Mr. Russon. The host of friends of Mrs. Emma (Grandma) Tanner will be glad to hear that she has been released from the Rrice hospital where she has been con fippd during the past few weeks and is now convalescing at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Olsen at Spring Glen, Mrs. Austin Brokaw returned last week from Leki, Utah, where she visited her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harvard Hinton and family. She also visited in Provo to be at the bedside of her sister, Mrs. Electa Parker, who has been seriously ill. James Duke, principal of the Myton Elementary School, attended the Physical Fitness Program held at Provo Friday and Saturday at Brigham Young University. The program will be fitted into the local school program. Syerl Dennis visited in Salt Lake City Monday where he received medical attention. Members of the Myton Relief Society who attended Stake Relief Society Leadership Leader-ship at Roosevelt Friday $ were Beth Duke, Janet Ross, Lenore Harris, Arba Uresk, Connie Ross, Jenene Peatross, QCanie Uresk, Eva Gingell, AolQut-ray AolQut-ray and Gladys Ross. County Commissioner anO Mrs. Wilmer Murray were visitors Sunday at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Murray at Dinosaur (Artesia), Colorado. Elders of the Myton Ward were hosts Friday evening at the Ward Chapel under the direction of Morris Jenkins. Larry Ross was Emcee for the occasion. Thirty persons were present to enjoy the following program: Vocal duet, "Tumbling "Tumb-ling Tumble Weeds" sung by Janet Ross and Beth with Dawna Dennis as accompanist; Vocal solo, "Sound of Music" by Charlotte Dennis, Dawna Dennis accompanist; Vocal duet, "I Believe" by Janet Allred and Gloria Peterson, accompanied by Evelyn Roberts. Rob-erts. Games were a diversion during the evening. Delicious refreshments were enjoyed at the close of the evenings entertainment. |
