Show June 4 Prospects Bright Prospects for the June 4 I fishing opener continue to brighten as we move closer to the big weekend for over 225, 000 Utahns who are busy buying lures, line and hooks in anticipation of landing a few rainbows from a lake or stream. Streams around the state will be definitely fishable for the weekend and will take some of the pressure from the .crowded lakes and reservoirs. Stream stocking by the Department of Fish and Game is going ahead assuring plenty of fish for those who prefer this type of angling. Surveys by Fish and Game personnel indicate a carryover of fish in many waters so there will be some lunkers caught in addition to the fish being stocked for this season. Water levels are high and this will make camping space along shorelines a premium on some waters. About the only places where access is questionable will be on the Uinta Mountains and along the skyline drive on the Manti Mountains. ' Don't forget those fishing licenses for everyone in your party 12 years of age and over and it's always a good idea to cany a fishing proclamation in your tackle box. A big crowd is expected for this fishing season sea-son so leave in plenty of time and drive with care when traveling travel-ing to and from your fishing trip. |
