Show BINGHAM FIRE LOSS LOW AGAIN FOR YEAR 1950 According to the annual fire report submitted by Chief John J. Creedon, the Bingham Volunteer Volun-teer Fire Department during the past year answered a total of 23 calls of which 17 were city calls and six were county calls. Total damage of city fires in 1950 a-mounted a-mounted to $35 as compared with $25 for the previous year and $2635 in 1948. Principal causes of city fires were listed as: kids and matches, 6; sparks on wooden shingle roof, 3; cigarettes, 1; auto, 1; power pole, 1; overload circuit, I; defective de-fective flue, 2; and no cause for alarm, 2. 485 men were, out 13 hours in answering alarms, equipment used included No. 1 booster, 1; No. 2 booster, 3; 1000 ft 2V' hose laid; 1200 ft. 1V4" hose laid; 1 roll roofing paper and three ladders. lad-ders. New equipment added included in-cluded 500 ft. Hi" hose. During the year inspections were made of all public buildings build-ings including schools, churches and business establishments. Chief Creedon also reported that the resusitator was used twice during the year. |
