S mission fields in Sweden arrived there ther safely and sends the following letter to Bishop Levi J J. J Anderton 3 Stockholm Sweden Bishop Anderton Dear Sir Just a few lines to let you know I iii river river safely in Sweden I tried to economize too much before leaving New York and got gotsick gotsick sick which made me to sea sickness I was vas sick for three days The smell in the diner kept ept me out until until un un- un- un til til the night before landing Our I meals on the boat were included on the fair We Ve arrived in Plymouth England England England Eng Eng- land March 29 at a a. a m. m We caught the train and d rode to London London London Lon Lon- don a hour four hour four Sim un on an English English English Eng Eng- lish train As you know they are much slower than in U U. U S. S A. A At London we parted with most of the missionaries There were four of us still together We were taken to the hotel and given a ameal ameal ameal meal then caught the train for pier when we caught a Swedish boat which was about p. p m. m I felt fine all the way and only sleeping in missed one meal as a Result t of We arrived in Sweden Friday March 31 at a. a m. m We then parted from the two missionaries going to Norwegian Norwegian Norwegian Nor Nor- NorI I mission We arrived in Stockholm at 3 p.m. p.m. p. p m. m Inand and were met at the depot by three elders and directed to head head- quarters I surely have enjoyed Stockholm thus far Sweden looks more like the than any place I have seen this side of there The building building building build build- ing and conditions are much more modern modem than in England The automobiles and trains are much better looking President Larson was not in when we arrived and so did not see him until yesterday He and his wife and the missionaries here are very fine I surely like to hear the dogs bark I can understand them We Ve will have a few days of supervised supervised supervised su su- su- su study before bel being g assigned assigned assign assign- ed a district I told President Larson to give me the toughest district and a afine afine afine fine companion I like Stockholm but I hope to get away from here herewith herewith wi with th just one good missionary There are arc about 12 here and they all speak English wl which ich would make it hard for me to learn Swed Swed- ish I am determined to learn Swedish and get into active missionary mis missionary mis- mis work I Give the ward my love lovo and respect respect respect res res- res- res and tell them Ulem I will do my best beat Respectfully Elder Earl Pearson |
