Show Highway 40 Clubs Meet In Heber HeberTo To Discuss Plans Highway 40 club delegates met metin metin metin in Heber City Sunday to complete plans for the spring campaign to stimulate travel of highway 40 this year Les Mullins of Roosevelt president president president dent of the Highway 40 clubs of Utah announced that the bid of the I Kremmling Colorado printer for strip-map strip folders had been accepted and the folders ordered printed The folders will be 9 x 24 Inches folded to a 9 x 4 f folder lder lithographed In two colors They will be available around the middle of May Highway 40 10 windshield stickers advertising the highway and using the dinosaur as an emblem for distribution by Utah service stations stations stations sta sta- tourist camps et etc etc were discussed at the meeting and it was decided to ask for bids for the thc printing of of these stickers They are to be 2 by 3 31 inches printed in two colors Much of the meeting was devoted devot devot- ed to budget discussion and because because because be be- cause of shortage of funds it was decided to eliminate any plans for radio advertising The Heber committee reported only one response from Wyoming in their attempt to reach an agree- agree Continued on Page 6 I Band Day Festivities Net Additional l Funds For Band Uniforms Continued from Page 1 t I May Dray queen and her attendants stood in the center of the circle Although the new band uniforms did not arrive for Mondays Monday's celebration ccle- ccle bration the Duchesne band dressed dress dress- ed in white slacks and shirts and blouses thrilled the spectators who lined both sides of Main street with a a. fine demonstration of march maneuvering and playing Leading the band carrying posters posters posters pos pos- urging support of the band were pep pcp girls dressed in blue skirts and white blouses Following the band the elementary elementary elementary elemen elemen- tary grades marched with miniature miniature miniature minia minia- ture floats and banners carrying out the child health idea The little floats gaily decorated with crepe paper carried fresh vegetables vegetables vegetables vege vege- tables fruits and milk Band nand Mothers Sell Badges adges Throughout the day the Band Band- Mothers sold ribbons in which were concealed numbers Approximately Approximate Approximate- ly thirty of the numbers drew diew prizes at the various business houses ranging from baskets of groceries at the grocery stores to free meals at the restaurants and gasoline and grease jobs at atthe atthe atthe the service stations and garages finger waves at the beauty parlors parlors parlors par par- lors and haircuts at the barber shops Some of the winning vinning numbers numbers numbers num num- bers created hilarity among the crowds when it was discovered that men were drawing finger waves and people who did not notown own cars were winning gasoline Exchanges Exchanges Exchanges Ex Ex- Ex- Ex changes were made however and everything was settled satisfactorily ily The Lions the Jaycees in a softball game which began at on the school campus with a score of 28 to 8 8 A Search for Talent t program sponsored by the B.
