Board Hopes to Effect Settlement Of Pending Transactions An effort to bring about completion of bond refunding negotiations which have been pending for the past year is the aim of the Duchesne county school board members, who left Wednesday for Salt Lake City. They hope to meet representatives of the eastern bond holders! and complete settlement with them. The refunding concerns an issue of $69,500 in 5 per cent bonds which fell due in December, 1936. New bonds were issued drawing interest at per cent in conformity with present lowered interest rates and offered to the holders of the old bonds, all interest on the old bonds to be paid in full. To date only $13,000 of these bonds have been exchanged. There three still remain outstanding blocks, two of them, for $5,000 and $9,000 being held in Salt Lake City by state agencies with whom the Board expected to make an exchange Wednesday. The third, a block of $42,000 is being held by eastern financiers, who have not yet consented to the exchange because of the reduced interest Crew Labors Five Hours To Release Imprisoned Men will be organized of L. Without warning, part of the celling gave way, releasing about one hundred tons of muck, forty feet deep, crushing Mr. Campbell against the bulkhead on which he had been standing. Floyd, whom the slide had missed by inches, ran to the main shaft and called for help. Cut Timbers His brother, Darwood, 23, and cousin, Everett Pope, 22, who had been working in the drift 50 feet above the cavein ran to his aid. Finding it impossible to release Mr. Campbell, and thinking he might still be alive, they cut through the timbers supporting the bulkhead. The body dropped down and with it came part of the cavein, imprisoning the two boys at the end of the drift. They had feared this might happen, they said, but knew they would (Continued On Page 8) 19, who was devoted to discussion of erecting a sign at the junctions of U. A discussion was introduced on the subject of a new jail and county court house. The committee on activities with W. J.
