T Cochran Cochran Coch Coch- ran of LeGrande Oregon This committee was was recently appointed by President Roosevelt to investigate reclamation projects projects projects pro pro- in the Western states with witha a view to outlining repayment plans which can be safely met by bythe bythe bythe the people living on the lands I IThe The present repayment plan for forthe forthe forthe the Moon Lake project calls for forty equal annual payments without without without with with- out interest totalling the cost of the project which will be a little less than one and a half million dollars Because the farmers doubt their ability to meet these heavy assessments during bad years the Irrigation companies under the project are losing a high percentage percentage percentage per per- of their stockholders Several plans have been discussed discussed dis dis- dis cussed for the revision of the re repayment repayment repayment re- re payment setup among which the most feasible seems an assessment based on crop crog production thus three percent of the average gross income per acre covering a period period period per per- iod of ot ten years will be the annual annual annual an an- nual payment This plan has been presented to the committee by A Austin stin G.
