Show By Mrs. Mnlnle Mrs. Ethel Clegg Hamilton was called to puchesne to be at the bedside of Whitetall Deer Poor Traveler The whitetail deer is a poor traveler on deep snow. Moose have long and heavy legs which permit them to drive through the heavy snow, but not so the whitetails. They soon bog down and tire out. Caribou can spread their hoofs to some extent to act as snowshoes, but the d hoofs and slender legs of the deer have no such ability. Once the snow grows deep, the white tails make little attempt to travel. They isolate themselves in chosen yards, and there they keep well beaten runways open by the simple expedient of traveling them throughout the winter. dieing mother, Mrs. Ivie, who Kindest passed away Sunday. sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Mrs. Ivie. Furnishing of suitable merchandise and materials for proper disposal of the dead human body is, of course, an import-an- t part of the mortuary service. Every mortician should at all Jaimes have on hand an adequate stock of caskets in varying sizes and styles, along with outer cases, shipping cases, burial garments and slippers, etc. In some isolated sections it is also necessary for the mortician to include in his stock of merchandise coverings, linings and hardware for the use of those who still cling to the old custom of home made caskets. It has become almost a universal custom for morticians to price caskets to include the charge for their services. Items which do not always go with each funeral are usually priced extra, such as embalming, metal vaults or garments, but the casket price usually includes normal use of hearse and other burial accessories, the directors services, and use of establishment. This loading of services charges onto the price of a casket is partly to blame for the tendency of some who need to watch expense e casclosely to still lean to the ket which does not bear this expense, but a better understanding of this condition and of the better values in factory-mad- e merchandise is rapidly overcoming this tendency in the Uintah Basin. home-mad- Roy A.
