C Ferron president of the Associated Civic Clubs of Eastern Utah informs us that he is calling a meeting of the board early in June Zvi with t 1 1 the question raised by us one of the main main ones t to o come under con con- The actual good to be ac accomplished will vill depend on the actions of the various clubs comprising the association and the instructions they give their representatives to th the meeting While our interests are not identical wi with th those of Southern and Central Utah they ar are are e very s similar They seek to increase increase travel through Utah To this we ve would like to add Come Colne t to o Utah and come on Highway 40 with additional propaganda on the scenic and industrial advantages to be found in in the Uintah Basin In our opinion we ve can accomplish most b by Y joining in the campaign already started b by the other associations associations associations if this is is possible There may be other opinions however vever and it is IS hoped that they will vill all be expressed express express- ed and thoroughly discussed at the corning coming meeting WHERE ARE THE SPORTSMEN IEN Efforts of the Duchesne Fish and Game Club to give e every fisherman an even chance at Bartons lake in Lake Canyon during the first week of the season proved fruitless Signs were vere posted notices printed rn in n the papers and andvord word vord passed around by word vord of mouth that boats would ruin ruin the shore fishing and an appeal made to the sportsmanship of the men to keep them off for the first week Early Sunday morning saw sav several boats on an the lake however from Carbon county Heber I and Salt fr 1 Lake City The signs had been torn down and thrown in the lake Two of our local fellows vs Robbins and Partridge had agreed to keep their s speed peed boat home and went vent to the lake to fish from om the bank When their fishing was vas ruined by alien boats however vever they gave up returned to town to to get their boat and spent the afternoon chasing both boats and fishermen from the lake 1 I We do not blame the local fellows vs for their attitude but 1 all in all we ve must say the entire da day cerro certainly br brought ought forth a fine display of sportsmanship I We welcome our visitors from outside Our merchants appreciate their business and our Fish and Game Club wants their support in getting stock for our i streams but we ve would like them t to come as sportsmen sportsmen sports sports- men and not in the guise they wore yore last Sunday |
