USN, is serving aboard the battleship USS New Jersey, with the flag allowance of commander com-mander Seventh Fleet in the Far East. Abel is the son of Mr. and Mis. J. Oseguera, 149 Main St., Bingham. Max C. Ivie, seaman USN, was a member of the team consisting consist-ing of three riders representing the' US navy in the recent Annual An-nual International Goodwill Horse show held inside the Imperial Im-perial Gardens, Tokyo, Japan, which won first place in the Military Service Jumping Event, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Ivie of Copperfield. Paul Kenner' has been taken out of leadership school and advanced ad-vanced to sergeant at Ft. Ord, Calif., according to word received receiv-ed by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Kenner. Paul arrived home last Wednesday to visit a few days with his parents. He left Tuesday night for Ft. Benning, Ga., where he will attend officers offic-ers candidate school. Hamilton Gray Kenner, another an-other son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenner, Ken-ner, left Wednesday afternoon at 5 p.m. for Ft. Lewis, Wash., where he will be stationed with the army. Mr. and Mrs. Kenner entertained enter-tained recently at a large family dinner in honor of their two sons. Jose P. Valdez, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Valdez, of Copperfield has completed his AF basic airmen air-men indoctrination course at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, the "Gateway to the Air Force." His basic training has prepared him for entrance into air force technical training and assignment assign-ment in specialized work. The course included a scientific evaluation ev-aluation of his aptitude and inclination in-clination for following a particular particu-lar vocation and career. |
