Show Lt July Celebration 1 Attracts Large Crowd I The Fourth of July celebration attracted a large crowd of nearly fifteen hundred people who thoroughly thoroughly thoroughly thor thor- enjoyed the pro pro- gram Beginning Beginning- with the sunrise sa Sm salute salute lute capably administrated by Guy Hollenbeck it was a great day of activity The parade the first event of ci the day was wa well vell carried out It was headed by the flag bearer Grant Brown mounted on Mrs J. J O. O Waters Water's horse beautifully decorated with flowers A. A M. M Murdock was marshall marshal of the day Billy Baker Balter representing the American American American Am Am- Legion acted as Uncle Sam The floats were beautifully decorated de- de decorated and th thre re was a large number of them The L. L D D. D S. S Primary was represented by Elva Abbott as a the Goddess of Liberty St. St Pauls Guild by Mary Louise Kohl as Miss Duchesne The Beehive Beehive Bee Beehive hive girls by a swarm of bees and hive the junior members of the American Americ Legion Auxiliary carried carried car car- ried led banners with Bernard Belt carrying the Legion banner The Relief Society presented a float entitled Wings of the morning with Jeannine Lyman Barbara Burdick acted as a butterfly butterfly butterfly but but- on a very pretty float forthe forthe for forthe the B. B B. B W. W Barbara represented Betsy Ross for the American Legion Auxiliary and I the Poulson Dairy had a float with the Poulson children as milkmaids Elva as Miss Utah dep- dep resented the L. L D. D S. S Sunday school St S1 Pauls Paul's Sunday school was represented by four decorated ed tricycles and some marchers The float of the Ladle Ladies study club which starred the daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Brown received received received re re- re- re much favorable comment from the crowd and honorable mention from the judges Lloyd Belt furnished amusement amusement amusement amuse amuse- ment as the clown of the ion lon Music for the parade was furnished furnished furnished fur fur- by the school band Betty McGuire represented the Duchesne hotel Doris Duke the Duchesne Drug Co and Billy Orr the Duchesne Hardware and Lumber Co The Uintah power and Light Co was represented by a 8 patriotic float and the service station by two burros The fire department concluded concluded con con- eluded the parade Three prizes of one dollar each were awarded as follows for the prettiest float Miss Duchesne for the most characteristic float the Bee Hive girls for the most original float the Poulson Dairy PROGRAM AT HALL BALL The patriotic program at the hall followed the parade in the order of the days day's events The Thc address was made by R.
