World conditions are in a thoroughly unsettled condition. Our nation is arming rapidly for whatever lies ahead. Vital met-als as well as farm products, cattle, sheep and the like must be supplied by Utah as its part of the general contribution to progress and defense. Our imme-diate area has an especially ur-gent part in the picture. Depend-able transport is requisite to our meeting our responsibilities. And through the operations of the Magna-Garfiel- d Truck Line, which also operates the Salt Lake & Bingham Freight Line, we have truly dependable trans-port. This regular daily service is of utmost importance to our merch-ants, to industry, to householders and to our steadily growing population yes, to all of us whatever we do. It is a service that contributes to progress in peace and is thoroughly essen-xi- al to safety in war. It is not merely that Bingham and Mag-na and Copperton and Bacchus and the. like are linked directly with Salt Lake City by the op-erations under the Magna-Garfie- ld Truck Line banner, but that all are linked in turn with Lark and Granger and Taylors-vill- e and varied other points. The regular ' routes of the Magna-Garfiel- d Truck Line and its affiliated operations are well LOCAL NOTES Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dispenza ntertarined Sunduy, April 15th, at their home at a lovely birth-day party in honor of their dau-ghter Faulette on her eighth birthday. Guests were Nikkie Florence Jimas, Marian Murano, Donna and Susan James, Donna Kay and Ronald Lipsey, Ann Nielsen, Joyce and Ray Bado-vinat- z, Claudia Murano, Jane Wilson, Susan Shatter, Sammi Gavich, Larry Anderson, Mich-ael Golish, (Barry and Dennis Callisto, Bobby Susaeta, Jimmy Lovat, Bobby and Richard Rauer. Games were played after which delicious refreshments were ser-ved. Faulette received many lovely gifts. Mrs. Ross M. Cushing was hostess to members of No. 1 Firemen's auxiliary on Monday night. Prizes at bridge were won hf Mrs. Jack Householder Sr., Mrs. Wallv Swenson and Mrs. Marriaga Announced Mrs. Clarence Allen of Mid-val- e, formerly of Copperton, an-nounces the marriage of her daughter, Miss Beverly Jean Allen, to Pfc. Ralph Green, for-merly of Riverton, now station-ed at Lowry Field, Colo. The wedding was solemnized in Den-ver, Colo., on April 7th. Anthon O. Jacotoson. Dainty re-freshments were served. Mrs. Raifprd G. Benson and daughters, Dorothy, Irene and Nancy, and Mrs. A. J. Stephen-son spent the week end in Og-de- n and Portage. In Ogden they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Rus-sell Stephenson. Women's Society of Christian Service of Lark and Copperton held their April meeting Tues-day night at the home of Mrs. Clyde Gillam. Mrs. Richard Rub-rig-was in charge of the pro-gram. She also gave a very in-teresting talk on the American Indian, their life and health. Se-lections on the piano were play-ed by Benny and Arthur Boyd, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Benton Boyd and Susan and Sally Gil-lam, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Gillam. It was reported that a bake sale will be held at the Copperton church next Thurs-day, April 2ti. Others present were Mrs. Boyd, Mrs. George Bolman, Mrs. Bert Thomas, Mrs. O. S. Jensen, Mrs. H. R. Gust, Mrs. George Knudsen, Mrs. Dal-las Anderson, Mrs. Phillip Sim-mons, Mrs. Wilson, Rev. and Mrs. Earl Lake. Lovely refresh-ments were served, r : Mrs. Nick Nevers, Mrs. Doreen Cox, Mrs. J. D. Porter and Mrs. W. B. Leatherwood. Prizes were won by Mrs. Hardman, Mrs. Ivie, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Pantalone, Mrs. Nevers, Mrs. Porter and Mrs. Leatherwood. A dainty luncheon was served and iMrs. Densley received many lovely gifts. : COPPERFIELD : Shirley Pantalone, Ph. 106 Seaman Leon Miller who is serving in the U.S. navy, arrived home Wednesday, April 18, to spend a two weeks leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller. A stork shower was given in honor of Mrs. Norma Valdez on Thursday, April 12th, at the home of Mrs. Nick Golish. At-tending were Mrs. Delfina Val-dez, Mrs. Minnie Leatherwood, Rose Garahana, Mrs. Mary Jane Crow, Helen Gallegos, Mrs. Ben Valdez, Pearl Neria and Mary Jane Lopez. Hostess to the show-er was Mrs. Donna Korologos. Bingo was played and prizes were won by Mrs. Ben Valdez, Mrs. Delfina Valdez and Miss Garahana. A late luncheon was served. The honored guest re-ceived many lovely gifts. Barbara Ball entertained at her home on Saturday, April 14, at a stork shower given in honor of Mrs. Donna Korologos. Guests were Connie Stillman, Barbara Mills, Darlene and Maurine Moffitt, Sandra Kenner, Pat Congdon, Amy Miya, Mrs. A. J. Baletha of Midvale, 'Mrs. Nick Golish and daughter Ellen. Pri-ze's were won by Darlene Mof-fitt, Miss Congdon and Miss Go-lish. A delicious luncheon was served and Mrs. Korologos re-ceived many lovely gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Robinett returned home Wednesday from a honevmoon trip to San Fran-cisco, Calif. Mrs. Robinett is the former Dorothy Pantalone. A wedding shower was given Tuesday, April 18, at the home of Mrs. Marvin Cowdell in com-pliment to Mrs. Ethel Densley, nee Ethel Palmer. Guests were Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. R. E.
