Show GIVING HIM ALL HIS TITLES. How Spanish Courtesy Heaped Honors Hon-ors on Chicago Man. An amusing story comes, by a late arrival from London. It seems that tho Infanta Eulalla, whilo staying In it England, a couplo of years ago, re ceived from a Chicago man who had seen her at a dlstanco at tho World's Fair a letter, In which ho wroto her that ho had named his daughter, horn on tho Infanta's hlrthday, Feb. 2, Eulalla, Eu-lalla, In honor of her Royal Highness. Tho Princess Ulndly Instructed her secretary to reply, thanking him for i tho honor. Tho secretary, knowing j no English, and desiring to bo ex tremely courteous, copied on tho en-volopo en-volopo inclosing tho Infanta's thanks i tho address and other matter from tho j business letterhead used by tho Chi cago man. The envelope, 'as it loft I tho English post, was carefully, if somowhat ornately, Inscribed as fol- 1 lows: "To tho 'Most Illustrious Mr. John Jones, Sanitary Plumber, Dealer Deal-er In Second-hand Gas Fittings; Kitchen Boilers Cleaned; Old Scrap Iron Bought at Highest Prices; West Forty-seventh Street, Chicago, 111., U. S. A." Tho secretary meanwhllo congratulated con-gratulated himself on none of tho recipient's re-cipient's supposed honorary nnd other titles being omitted. n |
