Show Tho retirement of tho Hon. Moses Hallet of Denver from tho Federal judgeship nfter over n quarter of a century's service, Is regreted, but not , unexpected. Moses Hallet during neir-ly neir-ly CO years spent in Colorado, has mado a reputation as a jurist second to few in the United States. Several times he was close to an appointment on the Supreme bench of the United States and had ho and his friends promised other claims to the position f published his claims to tho position there Is little doubt but ho would now bo a justice of tho Supremo court. Judgo Hallet has proven himself a careful financier as well as an able and upright judge, and retires with a competency that relieves him from any concern for tho future. At one time ho was a largo owner of real os-urtj os-urtj tate in Salt Lake City and only re- cently relinquished his Interests here ft which were mainly associated with G W. Clayton, now deceased. They were life long friends and at the death of Mr. Clayton Judgo Hallet became tho administrator of tho estate amounting to something like ?3,000,-000. |
