Tho scientific course has been organized or-ganized with tho special view of meeting meet-ing tho wnnts of students who aro to devote themselves In after life to any of tho professions connected with tho vast mining Industry of the west. Tho classical course forms a special spe-cial fcaturo and is the standard course of tho institution. Its object Is to prepare students for medical, legal and other learned professions, for which tho study of classics Is indispensable. indis-pensable. About threo years after tho founding of tho college tho Marist Fathers, a teaching order, who regard education as one of their principal objects, assumed control. For tho gratifying results attained groat credit is due tho Very Rov. J. J. Gulna, S. M., president and treasurer treas-urer of tho institution.
