Show o DEATH OF ALEXANDER GILLESPIE. GILLES-PIE. The death of Alexander Gillespie, which occurred at tho Holy Cross hospital In this city on Sunday, was exceedingly distressing. Mr. Gillespie who for many years was a resident of Provo, recently moved his family to Salt Lake whllo ho was employed In tho mines at Nowhouse. About a week prior to his death ho met with an accident In tho Cactus mlno whereby where-by he was struck on tho head by a falling timber and sustained a very severe se-vere fracture of tho skull. Ho received re-ceived his Injury while looking to tho welfare of a fellow omployo who was in danger. Ho was brought to tho Holy Cross hospital whero everything known to surgical skill was dono for him, but to no avail. After great suffering suf-fering ho passed away. Tho funeral was hold at Provo on Tuesday and was largely attended by sorrowing relatives rel-atives and friends. Mr. Gillespie was a native of Scotland, but camo to Utah with his parents 45 years ago when a child. He was a man of exemplary ex-emplary character and had many warm friends, who mourn his demise. To his sorrowing widow and 13-year-old boy, Albert, Truth extends tho deepest sympathy. . . r . . |
