The proceeds are to go to the fund for erecting a base to the Jh water fountain monument in front of the public library. It will be jB remembered that this fountain was presented to the city some time ago by the Daughters of the American Revolution and as their en- deavor is a laudable one it should be well patronized. Considerable interest is being manifested in the production pf I "The Merry Grafters," an original comic opera in two acts which fl will be presented at the theatre June 16th and 17th, with Wednesday M matinee. The opera, which is by Mr. Harold Orlob of this city, con- H tains some very catchy music, funny situations and good dialogue. What is regarded as one of the strongest choruses has been engaged jfl for the production, while the principals include such well known M amateurs as Hugh Dougall, Fred C. Graham, Miss Eda Evans, Mrs. I Orlob, Claudia Holt, George B. Margetts, S. B. Clawson and others. Bj Special scenery and costumes will also be among the features. W, Mr. Harold Orlob has been director and producer for a number of the Schuberts' New York and road shows, so it goes with- W out saying that a finished production is assured. ' |
