His death was unexpected, though he has been very ill for some time past. ' Senator W. A. Clark, after a short visit in Salt Lake, starts east after a tour of inspection of his western properties. Congressman John S. Sherman, nominee for Vice President on , Republican ticket, now out of danger and seems to be improving. The Utah Spanish War Veterans will try to bring National S. W. V. encampment to Salt Lake City in 1909. Monroe will hold big Fourth of July celebration. It is stated that all the Southern Pacific force which had been ' laid off will be put back to work July 1st.
