Show I Mines and Mining m G. Morby of Robinson has been granted a patent upon a smoke purifier to be used- in connection with smelting plants. Several men were put on at the Wabash yesterday morning and it is quite likely that in the near future the working force will be very materially increased. Conditions at the mine are very flattering, so far as can be learned. Park Recorder. A. N. Holdaway, superintendent of the Sioux Cons, property, returned re-turned on Wednesday evening after several days absence. Mr. Hold-away Hold-away has been at Provo and Salt Lake on mining business. Eureka Reporter. Three carloads of heavy rails were received over the Rio Grande railway on Monday for the new smelting company at Silver City. The rails will be used in constructing switches at the smelter. Eureka Reporter. A strike has been made in the new workings of the Bullock mine at Silver City and as a result the stock has been in demand during the week at a greatly advanced price. The Bullock company now has considerable ore exposed and the mine promises to be heard from regularly when conditions change and the Tintic properties are again able to ship their ore. i Mr. James Kofoed of Preston was in town yesterday. The gen- I tleman is interested in some mining property located at Swan Lake, I Idaho, and was feeling quite elated over the report from there that a twenty-foot vein of ore had been uncovered lately. Samples have been sent to assayers and the returns are awaited with interest. Logan Journal. The Biscuit Mining Company of Salt Lake, whose mines are located lo-cated near Cherry Creek, has made satisfactory ore contracts with the American Smelting & Refining Company and will begin ore shipments ship-ments at once from its property. A. E. Hyde, manager for the company, com-pany, left Salt Lake recently for the purpose of beginning regular consignments con-signments to the smelter. Utah Copper is rapidly increasing its production, it is now treat-i treat-i ing about 5,300 tons of ore daily as compared with a total capacity of 6,800 tons. This should give it a production of 3,300,000 pounds in February and 4,000,000 in March. The company's operating costs 'I are being reduced steadily. The prices of the Utah Copper stock is very cheap. This is a good reason for one to believe that it will sell much higher before the end of the present year.. Bingham Bulletin. j Though no first-class is being mined at the Daly Judge enough ore is being taken out to run the mill at capacity for the one shift employed and in the mine the development work is opening up some big mineral bearing country for development when normal conditions are restored in the camp. With the increased facilities afforded by the many improvements recently completed at the mine, and the added profit coming from the treatment of its zinc ores by the Crasselli Company, Com-pany, the Daly Judge is scheduled to take its place among the dividend-payers before many months have passed. Park Record. Edward Greeves is a late arrival in Ogden from Nevada, and I while discussing existing conditions in that state with a party of friends said that Gold Circle is the latest camp attracting attention I in the Sagebrush mineral belt. He added that the new camp is at present the objective point for the floating population of Nevada and - that people are flocking there in hundreds. Good propositions had been located and are being developed for a radius of five miles around Gold Circle and everything is on the boom. It is understood that Mr. Greeves will return to that camp within a few days and will likely take in and open up a stock of general merchandise there, as there is a constant and growing demand for supplies of every character. Ogden Standard. General Manager Edmunds of the Bingham Amalgamated Cop- per Company, stated Wednesday afternoon that this organization had completed terms with the Yampa Company of Bingham by which the Amalgamated will begin ore shipments as soon as plans can be arranged. ar-ranged. Mr. Edmunds states that by virtue of this arrangement the company can ship 100 tons of copper ore per week to the Yampa smelter, the terms of the contract extending for twelve months from the date of signing. He believes the ore will average all the way through eight per cent, copper. The ore bins are overflowing at present, pres-ent, and the company is adding to their capacity as quickly as possible. pos-sible. The company has opened a very fine tonnage at depth, while some of the ores will run as high as frrty per cent, copper. Bingham Bulletin. |
