A string quartette in the hall furnished furnish-ed a fine musical program. The tea given at the new St. Mark's nurses' home, the Bishop Leonard Memorial, Tuesday afternoon by the ladies of the Hospital Aid society was numerously attended. Bishop F. S. Spalding and the outgoing and incoming head nurses, Miss Edith Bcllam and Miss Fannie Lees received and the young nurses assisted in receiving re-ceiving the guests. Mrs. Windsor V. Rice poured coffee, in which arduous ar-duous duty she was assisted by Mrs C. R. Pcarsall, Mrs. A. J. Gorhani, Mrs. Warren Benjamin and others. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Walker celebrated celebra-ted their crystal wedding Tuesday evening with a large gathering ot friends at their bonis on Sixth East street. The host and hostess were assisted in receiving by Rev. and Mrs. P. A. Simpkin and their daughter; daugh-ter; Miss Edith Walker, Miss Chandler, Chand-ler, Miss Josephine and Miiss Mar-garctta Mar-garctta Johnson also assisted. Mrs. McAleer played some piano numbers, and Joseph Simpkin played a violin solo. The Girls' Friendly society of St. Mark's Cathedral gave a drawing room musicalc M'onday evening at the Spalding home, at which a large number num-ber of-their friends were entertained. A fine musical and literary program was given. Those who gave musical selections were the Misses Amy and Isabel Osborne, Miss Ilallie Foster, Miss Kathcrine Denny, Mrs. Graham F. Putnam and Karl Scheid. ... The young people of the Epworth League of the First Methodist church gave a reception Tuesday evening at the Ferris home on Third street, in honor of Mr and Mrs. A. E. Ebcr-hardt. Ebcr-hardt. Musical numbers were given during the evening by Mrs. Alfred Peters, Miss Beatrice Davis, Miss Helena Critzcr, Miss Davi and Miss Elliott. Mrs. W. J. Browning, Mrs. Rudolph Ru-dolph Dumbcck, Mrs. Hudson Smith and Mrs. Hoffman of Chicago left in a party Monday for a stay of a month in Los Angeles. Mrs. E O. Howard will leave early in June for the Atlantic coast, and will be joined later by Mr. Howard. They will spend the summer in the cast. Judge and Mrs. John A. Marshall have moved to the Knutsford, where they will be at home till the last of the week. Mrs. Marshall will leave with her mother, Mrs. Kirkpatrick, for California, to be away till early in July, where she will sail to join her daughters in Europe. MY. and Mrs. William E. Lake have returned from Los Angeles, where they went on their wedding . trip. Mrs. William A. McEncry will be here on Sunday from San Francisco and will spend a few days in town with friends. Mrs. Eskridge of Seattle, formerly M'iss Etta Keith, is in town, visiting her parents, MY. and Mrs. David Keith. Mrs. Thomas Gouldstone Griffin left Tuesday for the coast to visit her mother, M'rs. Thomas Carter, at Long Beach. Mrs. Robert R. Hampton and her little daughter have gone with her father, Judge Howat, for an eastern trip. Miss Lcda Pinkham of Wichita, Kan., will be here Saturday to spend a month with her aunt, Mrs. Elmer B. Jones. MY. and Mrs. Birch formerly of Fargo, N. D., are at home for the summer at 258 West Third South street. Dr. and Mrs. E. D. Woodruff entertained en-tertained the Bridge Whist club on Monday evening. Mrs. E. P.
