Show HENDRICKSON AND BULLEN. Logan, Utah, Sept. 14. Editor Truth: In the last issue of Truth, a certain individual, "Mell," proceeds to score "Rex" unmercifully. As to the identity iden-tity of "Rex," he is most certainly barking up the wrong tree; so we will let that matter drop. As to the article written by Rex," which "Mel" brands as untrue rubbish I most emphatically emphatical-ly declare Is the truth. "Mell" seems to be unacquainted with the situation. Ho Is either Ignorant or a mallcloui prevaricator. The fact that President Kerr once was a pupil of Mr. Heiidrlck-son Heiidrlck-son in a country school does not qualify qual-ify him to be a senator. The statement state-ment of his magnificent homo and wealth does not qualify any one for such an exalted position. It simply proves my previous assertion that he has the "dough" for that reason and 10 other should he be chosen. The bragadocla about campaign contributions con-tributions by him Is all rot. It is r matter of record, that three persons in this city have each contributed more good, honest cash to tho republican campaign fund in one yoir than Mr. Hendrickson has given for tho same purpose tlurlng his whole earthly existence. exis-tence. Several party men have also done all they could for the advancement advance-ment of republicanism and yet make no claim for honors. As to Mr. Bui-len Bui-len running for ofllce; true when dem ocracy held sway here and there was r.o earthly show for a republican to be elected ho was persuaded on several sev-eral occasions to allow his name to be placed upon tho ticket for mlnoi offices, jut the first time ho aspired for a stato office was- four years ago. When Hendrickson and Bullen were candidates for stato senator, and Mr. Bullen won out in the convention by a largo majority, but was beaten on election day by Mr. Barber, tho democratic nominee, he was beaten not by democrats, but by disgruntled republicans. That Mr. Hendrickson can do more for tho stato In one week than Mr. Bullen can do in sixty days is very laughable to thoso who know them; it Is simply bosh. They are both good men one.however, is a lit tie more popular than tho other, and i better statesman. REX. |
