Show ANOTHER PIONEER ANSWERS THE si SUMMONS OF DEATH VV W nelson one of the early pioneers of passed away at the family home on east street last friday may 13 1921 2 1 from general debility boio following an extended illness mr nelson was lorn in england june 24 1850 his parents were bazila babila and caroline chapelle woodward the father died in england following this the mother and son came to this country crossing the plains in in a hand band cart company in I 1 1859 cheh mr nelson was but eight years of age upon arrival at salt lake city his mother married M B nelson and the boy took the name of his stepfather step father who reared him to manhood mr nelson has always been active in farming sheep and cattle raising and for twenty years was in partnership with P M clegg of this city in the sheep business in the past few years he has devoted his time to home life and in taking care of his properties near home through his activity and sound judgement jud gement in business affairs he attained a very substantial measure of success year after year his business dealings energetically conducted in an honorable manner has placed him in in a position among the men of influence in this part of the state TheAe The deceased ceased was a him firm believer in the L P S church but all his activities were confined to a quite helping manner he was married in the endowment house september 1873 by daniel H 11 wells to eliza daughter of bishop john and eliza and has bus often said his beloved wife was his greatest asset in life besides his wife he is survived by eight children who are as follows follow s mrs B B howell of roosevelt utah W S nelson 1 mrs L f D brown mrs 0 E p nelson mrs orson mckendrick mrs W G gillespie it J nelson all of tooele and mrs geo E tripp of denver Co colorado orado funeral services were held in the north ward church monday afternoon may at two bishop A L hanks conducted the services the ward choir rendered selections and solos were rendered during the services by S W lee and mrs H H johnston benj L bowen offered the opening prayer peter M clegg cleg g C ra R mcbride and pros pres C alvin orme were the speakers the benediction was waa by bishop E M atkin the interment was at the tooele thoele cemetery patriarch john A bevan dedicated the grave the floral offering were beautiful and profuse |
