THE AUTHOR MANS SURPRISE 14 little story with a sequel that it 1 hard to guess gue upon a certain day there was in an author au thorman man who mho needed the money so he sat down and took up that ob eject lect which Is reputed to be mightier than the sword and wrote it a piece having finished his article he went to the post office purchased some milling blimps and mailed the piece to the aitor then he waited for tho the hild child of his brain to make its ita way back back to his mantel piece accompanied by a warm warin note from the editor saying that owing to a redundancy ot of similar matter he was compelled to reject the piece although this action wrenched wien ched his heart to such an extent as aa to almost drag that organ from its mooil I 1 iloween Ilo I 1 ow weer ei er this rejection was to be as in nowise a condemnation of oe the merit of the article etc etc the waited malted a spell but the letter that lie he looked for but dreaded never came now ow dear reader we give you three guesses as aa to the late fate of the manuscript nope all wrong the piece was wag accepted this is it judge
