Show siem stream bv vernon W shield well my vacation trip and fish ing trip to wyoming is over with out a doubt it is the best a cation I 1 have ever had I 1 love that wy oming orning country I 1 and only wish I 1 could spend more time up there two weeks is too short a time for me to do and see all the thi things ngsI 1 d like to the longer I 1 stayed the harder it was to break away the dry y fly fishing was the best I 1 ve ever experienced I 1 don t think III ever get over it my family have eaten so many fish that they say they will never be able to look at another one let alone eat one be sides the good fishing we saw lots of other fishing the ine w fork river about four miles south and east of Pin edale the wife and I 1 saw a big herd of ante 10 lope ope I 1 thought deer could run but these antelope have anything beat t that hat I 1 have hav e ever seen at half moon O 0 0 n lake I 1 saw about eight h head a d of moose moos e several beaver and all kind of deer and elk the seen ery in this country is beyond de two or three of the nights while we were there we had a full moon come over the lake the setting was very ro mantic even at my age I 1 was somewhat affected in Pin edale I 1 ran into a fellow by the name of symes he served in the navy with pete van otten he holds pete in very high esteem saying that pete was one of the finest fellows he has ever known that ought to get me a new ford hadn haan t it ita mr symes operates a nice little confectionery store in Pin edale fact is his prices are a little more reasonable than in some of the other places mr symes said he also knew herbert boone and bill anderson and re quested that I 1 tell them all hello for him it if you are ever up in pine dale call on mr symes he s a good guy and will give you some good dope on the fishing in that region some nice catches of fish are coming out of yellowstone park mr and mrs paul hammond returned home last week with some nice catches and reported the fish ing as being pretty fair but not quite as good as other years the junior sportsmen s outing held at settlement canyon last week was a huge success the kids had the time of their lives A special planting of five hundred large trout was made for the oc casion twenty five of these trout have been tagged and special valuable prizes are being furnished by the tooele thoele merchants they are numbered 75 to and various merchants are sponsoring each number jimmy hickman son of mr andars and mrs frank hickman walk ed off with the first prize for the most fish caught the prize was a fishing pole and was furnished by the utah Sports sportsmen mens s association jimmy dalton son of the late mel vm vin dalton was awarded a fishing pole for catching the largest trout this prize was also furnished by the utah sportsmen s ass n bill gordon caught a tagged fish and won a nice fishing line bert og den also caught a tagged fish whose number was sponsored by the tooele thoele electric and hardware bert was awarded a twenty two rifle other junior sportsmen catch mg ing tagged fish were sterling white bill walk and jim lebriton at this writing I 1 do not know what their prizes were or who sponsored them there are still twelve tagged fish left in the stream and any junior sportsman member catch one of these tagged fish must turn in his tag to mr ross president of the tooele thoele unit of the utah sportsmen s ass n to get the prize for his tagged fish the kids consumed bottles of pop and hot dogs and buns utah duck hunters g got ot an anex pecked break when the duck and goose gooe regulations were released last week we get a daily limit of five birds with double for posses sion limit limit on geese was amov ed up to five only two of which can be canada geese the hunting dates in utah are from oct 29 to dec dee 7 the season will open at noon but after the first day you can begin shooting at a halt half hour before sunrise and will have to quit at half hour before sunset I 1 think this is a pretty good deal and we t complain too much a bout these regulations st john couldn coulden t score but to thoele tooele ele tied er up by scoring twice on no hits red del papa walked rich ards was safe on an error li was out Q cerroni was hit with a pitched ball george bleazard fanned alverson was safe on an error with both runs scoring before V shields grounded out summary R D H TJ V E st john 6 13 6 tooele thoele 10 9 5 winning pitcher V shields los ing pitcher C green |
