| Show lions hear of salt lake boys and girls clubs fred tedesco salt lake corn com missioner of parks and playgrounds gave an illuminating talk on the upward climb of boys and girls clubs of salt lake city at the lions culb last thursday night mr tedesco told of the many ac tivi tivit ties les and larg enrollment of the salt lake groups which now num ber over young people de lin quency in one section of the city has gone down from 44 to Vs of 1 since a club was organized there according to mr tedesco movies were shown of the salt lake clubs and the tooele thoele urged to adopt some plan to care for the young people who have nothing to do by mr tedesco in other words the club voted to appropriate a sum of money for braille typewriters watch and oth er necessities for a county boy who is sightless this action came on the recommendation of lion llon sol selvin chairman of sight conserva tion committee who submitted a letter with the facts of the case to the members s of the club entertainment was furnished by the high school teachers saxophone quartet and community singing was enjoyed under the direction of I 1 D bird accompanied by irvin bird charles gillespie and glen ham ilton co captains of the tooele thoele high school football team were other guests of honor |
