| Show ERDA mrs mr il lanche clegg approximately sixty people were in attendance at the sweetheart sweethearts s ball at erda on tuesday even ng february 10 the hall was decor abed with red balloons cre crepe pe pap er streamers hearts and bilhou ettes lorraine lauritzen Laun was chosen as the sweetheart of the ball and she wore a crown of hearts as her gift she received a lipstick and nail polish set in an attractive red plastic case the floor show was as follows two vocal solos by darrell vor waller bells of the sea and I 1 I 1 I 1 played on my big bass viol read mg ing seeing things at night by barbara cluff pan tomme tomine act of the Ink spots in two numbers just plain love and just 3 or mee by albert griffith keith davis and harvey StaI stalnaker it was the most amusing and clever act I 1 ive ve seen in a long time and I 1 certainly hope to see more of them the last two numbers on the floor show were brought by Lake point MIA and we want to thank them very much for a fine program our cake auction was very sue suc with a total of ten cakes and a box of candy selling for over twenty dollars we certainly want to thank everyone who donated cakes and candy for this event you can be very sure that the mon ey collected will be spent for a good cause valentine refreshments were ser set ved at the close of the evening and everyone seemed to have a good time this certainly encourages us to plan more and better parties when we have such a good response and such good attendance at them the next important event on our calendar of course is the gold and green ball so be watching for it it was work day in relief society last tuesday and some of the lad ies les were busy quilting all day from 10 a in they really worked hard but didn dian t quite get the quilt fin dished mr and mrs ray bryan of erie perm penn sent word of the arrival of a baby daughter on feb 6 the baby wil be named paula and the proud grandparents are mr and mrs john R droubay and mrs em I 1 ily bryan all of erda among the erda people who at tended the lincoln day banquet in grantsville Grants ville were mr and mrs les ter palmer mr and mrs aaron bryan mr and mrs peter V clegg M mr r and mrs alien allen dark clark and bish op droubay the primary valentine party pro ved to be a lot of fun for the child ren mrs mildred davis was in charge and she had several am using valentine games for them to play then the valentine box was opened and valentines were pas sed to all the children refresh ments were ice cream cones and heart cookies the erda senior scout basket ball team won their first league game last thursday night with a score of 27 to grantsville Grants ville second ward s 16 high scorers of the evening were earl palmer for erda with 12 and arlo fawson for grantsville Grants ville sec ond with 12 points erda s team is managed by dean palmer and consists of earl palm er bob droubay gordon shane floyd shields dewey whipple howard davis charley cochrane and dwight clark that was nice work boys keep it up the next two games will be erda vs grantsville Grants ville 1st feb 19 and erda vs grantsville Grants ville 2nd feb 26 A silver tea will be given by the woman s society of christian ser vice at the tooele thoele com community church on saturday feb 21 from 2 t to 0 5 p in m 1 members abers and friends are cor bially invited to attend tooele thoele lodge no 1673 made a jaunt to ogden on tues day february 10 for the purpose of participating in the northern D vision ritualistic contest this contest was won by tooele thoele and the local team has earned the right to enter the state finals for a chance to represent utah in the na dional contest next summer the he tooele thoele junior woman s club will meet on monday march 1 at 8 p in in the county courthouse dorothy cott of the bennett glass and paint co will give an il lustra ted lecture on the fundamentals of 0 interior decorating orating all members are urged to attend the public is welcome miss ada faitana english in tor a the tooele thoele high school is a patient at the brigham hos pital |
