Show I 1 IBAPAH B A P A H mew d mary ann snively mrs S H nicholes spent monday in wendover with her parents vick lawrence and a friend of his from grantsville Grants ville were over night guests of the jay hick hicks s one night this week the james hudson s of grants ville arrived in ibapah on satur day to spend a few days with the jay hick s another dance in ibapah satur day night out of the valley peo pie were mr ernest beel his two sons darrell and lafell and his daughter laraue bob lee and newell and harold kelley all of tooele thoele mr and mrs eddie shack leford of magna mrs henroid and daughter of spring valley nev ada the young folks from pleasant valley nevada and the young folks from callao utah lowell and blain hicks both of salt lake city were visiting with the jay hick s one day last week afternoon callers on sunday at the jay hicks were mr and mrs lyie lyle hibbard of ruth nevada and mr and mrs milton hibbard from oregon agent handy returned home late sunday afternoon accompanied by mrs handy s mother mrs kirk bride who will visit with the han dy s for a week before leaving for california mr and mrs garth weaver of wendover arrived in ibapah late tuesday afternoon accompanied by mrs gerald shepherd and baby son of provo the garth weaver weavers s just spent the day but mrs shep herd will spend several days with the walter weavers and the jay hicks before returning to provo earl doutre of spring valley nevada was seen breezing around ibapah late tuesday afternoon picnicking in johnson canyon on tuesday were the floyd west s and the fred boyds bert robinson s son of spring valley nevada was in ibapah on thursday on business doc doe skinner was seen in iba pah in ray rays s large truck thursday A chickery at the arthur hel kel ley leys s for all the young folks was quite the event A good time was had by all mrs wade galloway calloway son bernell and ken A snively all motored to tooele thoele and salt lake thursday on business the most talked about subject of late seems to be how we can make our schools more interesting for our children of tomorrow in some ar tides that ive read the children themselves have expressed their own opinions the main thing seems to be mo more re attractive school houses and yar yards ds the children of ibapah certainly h haven aven t much to look forward to especially when it comes to the building and the school y yard ard they have one bumb led down dow n slide and one swing that s in fair condition the other will hardly hold together the size of their outdoor playing equipment the building after they have finished a lesson they can idle several minutes away by look ing up at the ceiling and counting the cracks in the plaster to say nothing of the plaster that s fallen off their desks are old ones and the curtains that s used when they put on a play are old when I 1 went to school they were pretty alov flowered er creton but you would never know that they were flowered now they are faded and full of holes the benches put out for parents to sit on when there is a program are the crudest of benches I 1 be lieve I 1 would be safe in saying they were made in the year one should our children hear these broadcast and read these articles about what makes school interest ing they would certainly think their building and yard and equip ment were the worst ever when the school board members were in badah talking up this vote yes deal for a new school building in tooele thoele when asked what was on the program for ibapah the reply was nothing guess that s a bout out right too just plain nothing we were re glad tooele thoele got the votes all YES for their new school build ing but we don t feel that we are asking for too much when we ask for a few things in ibapah either wonder how many town folks would like to have their children pack every bit of drinking water that they would drink during the day the ibapah school child ren have to looks like they will have to continue doing so too |
