Show sheriffs sheriff s office works overtime during weekend tooele thoele county sheriffs office had another busy weekend hinves ti gating several wrecks reports of stolen autos burglaries and other incidents throughout the county last friday at 11 30 p m a panel truck driven by pete kar akas of magna ran into a car be ing driven by herbert anderson of Lake point damage was slight and no one was injured another ac aident occurred at 5 p in mon day in TOD park when one car rammed the back end of another the car in front was driven by al ice T radell while the second machine was as driven by V C kirby damage to the radell vehicle was 75 saturday morning at 11 clock a light 1934 model car tipped over just east of delle station driver of the vehicle richard P of los angeles was given a cita tion for reckless driving and held in the county jail until tuesday morning when he was tried and found guilty by judge frank frai ley and fined 75 the auto was owned by charles W mackley also of los angeles who was a pas in the car neither was hurt in the accident this crash was in vesti gated by deputy bill shar sharp p and state patrolman peter van otten the car is being held by the state highway patrol until definite ownership has been established and the machine put into condi tion to run without being a hazard on the road it was damaged to the extent of about bobby hoffman of tooele thoele was unhurt when he stepped on the starter of his fathers car causing it to jump ahead and crash into a light standard while it was parked at the north driveway to the county court house the car had been left in gear and the boy was in the machine waiting for his father damage to the standard was estimated at 25 deputy bill hussell russell of wendover recovered a stolen car parked at the state line motel acting on a tip from fay pay gillette the car had been taken by jay maki who was part owner of the vehicle but without consent of the other part ner and had been driven excel tio nally hard maki was not to be found at the time the car has been impounded awaiting clear ance either by the owner or the finance company rick price driver of the panel truck which crashed head on into a car driven by nelda morgan on oct 5 was brought before the i bench and given a fine or days in jail for drunk driving and 20 or 10 days for driving without a license being found guilty on both counts price chose to serve the time and was lodged in the county jail most seriously hurt of the vie vic tims involved in the accident wil ham liam isi of ophir and dale griggs of toodie tooele were reported to be im proving and on the way to ery |
