proud of their purebred suffolk ewes lambs 0 N 0 IA 1 4 A dick and george gowans are real proud of the purebred sul suf folk sheep which they have ac quiren as a result of their 4 H work elsie green the 4 H club work is the most interesting part of my work so I 1 thought when I 1 began working in connection with it and the other agricultural and home economic problems of the county this was more forcibly brought home to me when I 1 met dick and george gow ans these boys are sons of mr and mrs charles gowans who have a farm out on coleman street mr gowans has been quite in te rested in his farm work and es specially ally in livestock he ile has tried to instill this interest in his sons along with his effort came the 4 11 club and the possibilities of taking their animals to the shows and to really start a big herd of their own so it was decided that some purebred sheep should be secured for the boys to work with I 1 asked them why they chose shee sheep p and they said well they guessed gu e s ed they just liked those thos e am mals better the sheep which they are shown with in this picture were r e purchased from sam nielson of nephi on decoration day of this year they got 4 ewes and 4 lambs so that each boy would have an equal number of animals to take care of the ewes and lambs must have certain types of feed and be fed regularly and kept clean and dry the boys are planning to exhibit their sheep at some of the coming shows and sales but I 1 think that they have in mind to build a herd of their own and then sell some of them for meat well good luck to you boys I 1 hope that you have a lot of success in your new ven ture
