I The Pleasant Grove Vikettes Vik-ettes are preparing for their competition season which will begin on Saturday, December 18. The Vikettes will be competing com-peting at three invitational competitions com-petitions before heading to the Region Competition to be hosted host-ed by Lone Peak High School. The Vikettes practice every morning at 6 a.m. Their practice prac-tice schedule consists of tedious cleaning and perfection in all of their routines. They spend much of their time working on turns, leaps, and head stands to get every detail just right. The Region that PGHS is a part of is not only tough in football, foot-ball, basketball, and baseball, but this region has consistently brought out champions in drill team also. Of the four teams that qualified for State last year, three of them finished in the top five at state. The Vikettes are hoping to squash the competition competi-tion this year and push past the stigma that has haunted them in the past. Their goal is to qualify for State and finish in the top five at the State level . If you are interested in supporting the Vikettes this year, they will be competiting at the following places : December 1 8 at Jordan High January 8 at Alta High January 15 at Murray High January 25 Region Competition Compe-tition at Lone Peak .
