Show PG City Council Discusses Plans For Citizen Input On Proposed Utility Rate Increase In a follow up to last week's public hearing on the proposed city utility rate increases, City Administrator Ad-ministrator Scott Dar-rington Dar-rington told the council that they wanted to put an insert in the next city water bill regarding the proposed increase in fees for city utilities. Mayor Bruce Call explained that a message will be included in the next city newsletter and another public hearing will be held. They will include a more comprehensive compre-hensive study and information infor-mation available on the city website. A shorter short-er version of the same thing will be included in the city newsletter. The information on the city website will be more detailed de-tailed than what can be included in the utility billing to citizens. Scott said they want to do their best to be sure all people are informed. The council discussed possible methods of being be-ing sure the residents are able to receive information in-formation on their concerns con-cerns such as the utility rates via the internet and be able to send their responses re-sponses back to the city. Scott read the questions ques-tions they have prepared which are ones they have received at the public meetings on this matter. These questions with answers will be available with answers on the city website. It was noted that the state law says that utilities utili-ties must pay for themselves. them-selves. On November 16 will be the next public hearing on the utility rate increase. The city will have answers to the citizens concerns on the city website before then. |
