Show Homecoming Pageant Presents New Royalty for 2010 Keley's passion is music. She started playing the piano when she was four and started playing the violin when she was twelve. She loves to play Bach on the violin and ragtime on the piano. Keley plays in the high school Chamber Orchestra and plays the piano in the high school Jazz Band. Keley can be found practicing three to four hours a day. She plans on majoring in musical composition at Brigham Young University. Keley said, "When they announced my name as Second Attendant, I was so excited and so happy. It was just an amazing experience." Miss Congeniality Missy Caldwell is the daughter of Blair and Jill Caldwell. Missy discovered her love for soccer in eighth grade when her team took second in her division. Missy plays on her high school varsity soccer team as an outside defender or wing. Jill Caldwell described Missy as a very bubbly, giggly, and an outgoing person who always has a smile, on her face. Missy loves to be around people and loves to hang out with her family and friends. Missy plans on becoming either an orthodontist assistant or a health teacher. Missy said, "I wasn't expecting to win anything. It was such a surprise when they called my name." by Danica Baird Student Writer On Wednesday, October 6, Pleasant Grove High School's new Homecoming Royalty was crowned with Kim Dahl named Homecoming Queen, Nicole Packer named First Attendant, Keley Barzeele named Second Attendant, and Missy Caldwell named Miss Congeniality. Homecoming Queen Kim Dahl is the daughter of Kevin and Pamela Dahl. Kim's passion is volleyball. She started playing volleyball in the third grade and began playing competitively in the sixth grade. Kim played on the A2 National Volleyball Team this past summer fo; two weeks in Wisconsin. Kim has also accepted a full-ride scholarship in volleyball to Brigham Young University. Additionally, Kim has been awarded Academic All-State in volleyball. Pamela described Kim as a happy, energetic, and bubbly person who is fun to be around. Kim loves the outdoors. She loves to go boating at Lake Powell and camping. Kim also loves to cook and to read. Kim said, "Being Homecoming Queen was so much fun and has made me want to get more involved in school spirit." Kim wants to become a teacher and coach when she grows up, most likely a volleyball coach. First Attendant Nicole Packer is the daughter of Lawrence and Leslie Packer. Leslie described Nicole as a very open and friendly person who genuinely loves people. Nicole has played the French Horn since seventh grade and fell in love with choir when she joined the Utah Valley Children's Choir. She is currently a member of the Chamber Choir at Pleasant Grove High School as well as the A Capella Choir. Nicole also loves to dance, especially ballroom, and is a ir.ur.bcr on the high school ballroom team. Leslie said, "Whenever she tried an outfit on as a child, she would dance in it to see if the liked it. She just loves to dance." As a child Nicole was in the hospital frequently and a nurse named Nate inspired her to pursue a degree in nursing. Nicole hopes to become a nurse in a pediatric hospital. Second Attendant Keley Barzeele is the daughter of Eric and Amy Barzeele. Amy Barzeele described Keley as a very happy, outgoing, and friendly person who makes everybody feel like they are special.
