Show - v 0? Community Moab's Area Voca-. Voca-. tional Center has been in the metropolitan news all week, as the Utah Board on Higher Education and the State Board of Education Ed-ucation argue which of the super-agencies will have control over the facility. We doubt very much if anyone on the state level has bothered to ask the basic owner of the plant, Grand County School District what they thought about all the wrangling. It's kind of like being in a small country between two big super powers arguing about which one will take it over. The whole thing, we feel, stems from a feeling feel-ing of insecurity on the part of Utah's smaller colleges many of which have lost enrollment the past few years. And it would appear that there are many more important impor-tant things for our State Boards to be worrying about, like the quality of education, service to the State, etc. sjt Lack of out-of-state hunting licenses in lpcal licensing agencies; lack of application cards for special hunts in Southeastern South-eastern Utah, and many other items have a lot of Moab area residents grumbling about the administration ad-ministration of the State Division of Wildlife Resources Re-sources these days. We can fully understand under-stand the problems in administering the out-of-state situation with only a limited number of permits available this year, but we can't for the life of us understand why residents of Southeastern South-eastern Utah can't get hold of application forms for hunts being conducted in our part of the State. I'm sure the lack of forms is a big factor in the limited number of Moab residents lucky enough en-ough to "draw out" on the Dolores Triangle hunt this year. sjt Ralph Nadar has done such a good job of screwing screw-ing up the automobiles now on the market that he is spending every waking hour looking for new fields to conquer. Now he has employed his best fright tactic before be-fore the nation's governors gover-nors in attempting to kill completely any further expansion of nuclear power generating facilities. facil-ities. It's to be hoped that cooler heads prevail. Stick to your warning buzzers, blinking lights, and automatic ignition cut-offs, Ralph, and don't foul up the energy situation sit-uation like you have the automotive industry. |
