Show Thompson News Notes By Virginia Gruver This old snow isn't very nice to people. Bettie Jeffries' grandmother, ' Lulie Clark, slipped on the ice and snow in front of the post office and when she was checked at the hospital, . it was found that she had broken her leg. We all wish for a speedy recovery recov-ery as it is near Christmas. Merry Christmas, Grandma Clark. There's a big Christmas party planned for the citizens citi-zens of Thompson and will be held at the Community House (which is the old school house). There will be a Christmas tree, Santa and the works. The ladies are furnishing the eats and a big crowd and a good supper is anticipated. The more you read the Moab paper the more parks are being set aside. It won't be long until there will be a toll at each and every side of Utah to collect park fees for entering Utah; everything will be a park, no hunting, no fishing, no rock hunting. Don't you think we're going too far? Wanting to make a park out of Westwater Canyon! Can-yon! If you do it should be named ' Suicide Canyon Park. People will try to navigate same and will lay in the water wa-ter like the one Green River hunter who is still there after more than a year. I was so glad to read the article about a man taking his family to Salt Lake on the train. There are lots of people never ridden a train. If I had time and. moneyj I wouldn't travel any other way. Stay in there, sir, and keep bucking for train service. ser-vice. We need these trains. Maybe we can get our mail back on them. That would make a lot better service and maybe bring prices down a bit. There was a special Posse meeting at the George Dutos home this past week. The Sheriff was there selecting jurors for this term of court. |
